I have just watched Eye to Eye and would like to say that, they came across a bunch of children screaming over each other. It is the most annoying piece of TV I have seen in along time.

The issues they bring up in Eye to Eye are often very engaging with some great guests. If you could just manage them abit better Willie then maybe we could hear what they have to say.

Kia ora
Having just watched your programme there are two things that I want to comment about. I did a quick table (see below) on the Government's October 08 and April 09 Tax changes. Note that in April 09 those on low incomes i.e. below $45,000 receive tax increases. The Government has mislead 80% of its workers!!

30,000 40,000 50,000 60,000
Tax on Fortnight Pay 1153 1538 1923 2307
Apr-08 236.12 331.76 463.86 595.94
Oct-08 212.26 298.74 430.78 562.86
Tax Change 23.86 33.02 33.08 33.08

Apr-09 215.72 303.34 399.62 532.86
Tax Change -3.46 -4.60 31.16 30.00
Nett Tax Change 20.40 28.42 64.24 63.08

Tax reduction for 1 Year 530.40 738.92 1670.24 1640.08
Extra Cash per week 10.00 14.00 32.00 32.00
Percentage of Gross 1.77 1.85 3.34 2.74

The Maori economic expert that was a guest on Willie's panel needs to clean up her pronunciation of Te Reo Maori. How can we expect other New Zelanders to have respect for our language when some Maori people do not give it that mana. Shame on her!

Re Today's session.

1. Do Leila Harre and Matt McCarten not realise that they are expressing racist views when they assume that the majority of Maori are poor working class?
2. There are huge numbers of Maori in Australia and overseas earning high incomes because there they do not experience the internalized racism of New Zealanders and their assumptions that Maori 'should' belong to the underclass so a] Pakeha can feel superior b] Do-gooders like Harre and McCarten have a job advocating for this mythical underclass.
3.Maori authorities have been coining in the $$$$ for most of my 60 years and its time they took responsiblity for providing education, welfare, health and employment: many are.
4. The rest of us took the opportunity of the excellent NZ Education system and got ourselves qualifications. Should we continuously be lumped into the 'poor Maori', 'criminal Maori', undereducated Maori' class created by the above at 2?
5. It would be really uplifting if Willie had some of these educated successful Maori praising Maori achievement on the show. I am sick of politicians.
6. I will be taking my once in a lifetime hard earned taxcut which I thoroughly deserve after 41 years work and raising kids as a solo mum whose useless husband gambled and boozed away his $1000 plus income per week when he was in his 20s never paying maintenance but everytime and again using my taxpayer funded rehab services. He is 60 and continues in this same lifestyle.
7. It will help me pay my mortgage, rates, insurances, phone, electricity, petrol, repairs, medical bills; but oh yeah will still not help me get to the Dentist or to see my dying father in Queensland. So don't know how Harre and McCarten can get away with talking so much rhetoric. Their careers should be over because they are living in the 1970s and I'm bored already. Stop recycling them.
8. Willie is getting repetitive also. Bring some young people on who are living in today's economy and succeeding. There are plenty Maori out there doing that.
