This adventurous and ground-breaking magazine show now in its sixth series on Maori Television.
It looks at the lives and issues that face the Maori gay, lesbian and transgender communities in New Zealand. This is the world’s first indigenous gay television series. Takatapui Series 6 is comprised of 20 half hour in depth stories, and airs in 2008.

Who will take the Crown and the title of Queen of the Whole Universe 2007? The show is an annual fundraiser for the New Zealand Aids Foundation and a major event in the queer calendar; a staged Beauty Pageant with a huge cast of volunteers and competitors putting on the high heels, the choreographed moves, high hats and spectacular frocks, for a show at Auckland’s ASB Theatre. Join us as we follow three of the finalists as they prepare and take part in the big night out.
